The Monday Blues....

Aaron woke up in the middle of the night and I checked him and he was burning up. As a mom you think "tylenol fast" He is so good about taking it that he sipped it and then I rocked him back to sleep. He is still sick that I took him to his Peditrician Dr. Shah and she said he has what is going around the summer flu. We came back home and he napped (I did to) His fever is back up again so I am wondering if Mark will stay home tomorrow with him?? I am pretty lucky that he only gets sick once in awhile now.. when he was a infant I swear we were at the Beaumont after hours clinic once a month for ear infections and viruses... thats it for now... wish me luck!!

Mom to Mom, Lake Port and Dinner....

Today was crazy!!! I started off at a mom to mom that was not all that great. I then stopped off at my sister's for breakfast and picked up my Niece Delaney and off we went. We 1st stopped at Mrs. Miller's (yes Nicole, Michael and Julie Miller's Mom)and she had a bag of clothes for Aaron from Nicole (which we are going to see her and her family next weekend in Traverse City I can hardly wait) and she also gave Aaron a Elmo and sit in spin!! From there we met Mark and Aaron @ Sunset Patio and got gas, stopped off at Mcdonald's next to Barrymores and took off to Lake Port. I love the beaches on Lake Huron and we were there in like 45 minutes... 94 to 25 and boom... you are there on a beautiful sandy beach!! We swam and picked rocks and had a blast... we came back to my sister's and played got in the car and met my In Laws and Mark @ Bakers Square and after that (oh yes we did not stop) we went to see Grandma Berry in the nursing home and than we took and bath and have been snoring ever since... Here are some pics from the lake!!

Salsa anyone???

Tonight the family and I went over to my Aunt Dorothy's for a get together. She will be 80 in October and I just love her. Her get togethers are really beer fests... everyone shows up with a 18 pk ready to roll. Baby Aaron and I stay till about 9:00 and Mark follows hours and hours later... Aunt Dorothy put in a big garden this year so I took advantage of it and made some homemade salsa for everyone. Here is my receipe incase anyone would like to try it. I don't use exact amounts I just eye ball it like Rachael Ray... trust me I am not that great but people liked it and it did have a kick to it. I am more of a baker.. but maybe if Mark is nice to me on Sunday morning I will make him scrambled eggs and put the salsa on top... This receipe is my Cousin Pat's who is in heaven so I eat this and think of him..

garden fresh tomatoes
silantro
onion
hot peppers
garlic
dash of lemon
dash of vinegar (I used applecider)
dash of tabasco sauce

I used her chopper from the 80's and chopped a litte bit at a time and it was good....

fall is near

I can see it on the cars in the morning... I can smell it at night... Fall is near and to many it means, cider mills, apple cider, hayrides and plenty more. To me it means waking up on a Saturday morning and grabbing a Tim Horton's (is there any other coffee) and heading to a Mom to Mom sale. I find all the sales on this web site
www.mom2momlist.com. I love it, I love it... sometimes strollers are allowed after 11:00, you only pay a $1 to get in and you can find the deals of a lifetime. My sister and I ran into her best friends mom Patty Miller... and we all laughed because she enjoys going as a Grandma to get things for the Grandkids...some of the tables are only a buck, I love the sales that have over 100 tables.. I walk out with new clothes with tags on them or ones that look brand new... I have my favorites. St. Thelca Groesbeck and 16, St. Paul on Hayes in Clinton Twp., Trinity Lutheran on Harper in Clinton Twp. I must post a pic of Aaron from last fall....

Sisters

Ok Robin... this post is dedicated to you. My sister and I have not always been close... she is about 3 1/2 yrs. younger than me and when she was younger she was a pain. The story she will paint was that I was a mean older sister which I was. We did not become close till her oldest son Sebastian was born. Mark and I went to the hospital to see him and he was all alone in his bed while she and Gene were laughing away with their friends... I picked up that baby up and she said jokingly "finally someone who knows what they are doing". I would beg her to babysit for me when I was sick or could not go and she was not intrested. After she announed she was having her 3rd baby I told her I wanted in the deivery room. It was the most amazing thing ever... I was told to sit in the corner and be quiet... her friend Nicole Miller was there also...when it came time to push Gene told me to come and watch... its such a miracle... I got so wrapped up in it that as soon as Lydia was washed off they asked who wanted to hold her and I practically knocked the nurse down to get her. To this day Lydia and I are close.. the only one of her 3 children who would come and live with me.... but she is still a mamma's girl... anyways... Robin just got her 2nd Masters in something (I never pay attention) and after all the jobs she has had... GM, Det. Edison, some car place, Ford, Red Cross and now finally another place that designs cars...we FINALLY work by each other and got to go to lunch with each other. Yesterday was fun Robin and I am very proud of you and look giddly to more lunches with my sister. I never thought I would say that about Robin... but I am very proud to be your sister!!

Cruising for ice cream

Everyone knows that the Dream Cruise is this weekend and so I wanted to go last night and just explore it early without the hassle of going Saturday. Mark and his Dad will be there but I don't care to go on the actual day. I suggested that we go last night and at least check it out and get ice cream. Mark thought we would get stuck in all kinds of traffic and tie ups... it was very busy but I think we both had fun. We stopped at one of my fav spots and got ice cream and from there walked down Woodward to see the cars. We forgot Aaron's stroller from being still tired from our long trip that we had to rely on holding his hand and carrying him. Well, lets just say.... next time we won't forget that stroller!!
